I specialize in creating tech-forward products and the operating systems for the teams that build them.
Originally from Chicago, a place I'll always call home, recently a transplant to rural life with my partner and two kiddos. I love to read, garden, cook, and nerd out playing games.
My professional experience started when I realized I didn't want to be a therapist nor a statistician, having focused on data mining and psychology in college. I had great experience working in the analytics and visualization lab, presented at the Radiological Society of North America, and published a paper!
Instead of pursuing advanced degrees in human computer interaction, I decided to enter the corporate world. My first role was as a consultant at a call center analytics company, transcribing voice to text, adding sentiment rules, and performing analysis to identify fraud, customer attrition, and other behaviors via utterance data. Intrigued by the process of deploying predictive algorithms to production, I realized I wanted to build more than doing the math. So when I received an opportunity to try my hat at my first product role, I dove in at Relativity (fka kCura) learning about the legaltech industry and integrating an e-mail threading engine into their platform. As a PM of analytics, I was able to apply my data background to building software, learned how teams work from idea to inception, and the rest is history.
I've served as "product hire number one" at several startups and tasked with scaling teams through growth stages at multiple companies. My curiosity for novel technologies and their applied use even led me to a few patents. I've also had the delightful opportunity to teach technical product management at Northwestern Kellogg and McCormick's joint MBA in AI program.
